In Oregon to "partition land" means to divide a piece of land into not more than three resultant parcels within a calendar year. Most Cities and Counties require a application process with their Planning Department, and they will rule on said division relative to local land development codes. The Planning Department will then issue a set of conditions that includes a survey and plat map that provides documentation of said division. A field survey finding or setting permanent corner monuments at all changes in direction of the parcel boundary is required for all parcels below 10 acres within a parent tract. At this time parcels over 10 acres only require a plat map to be filed with the County Clerk.
